After analyzing public chain user activity data, I discovered these seven key points

Two days ago, I conducted a survey on blockchain user activity and found some surprising results:

• 17% of voters have never used Ethereum mainnet
• 34% of voters have never conducted a Bitcoin transaction

In addition, I analyzed and summarized the other 7 most important insights:

**1. The Cardano community is very strong. **

The survey attracted more fans from Cardano than other blockchains, with 6,300 participants in the Cardano survey compared to about 2,700 for other blockchains.

Despite this, 64% of respondents have never used Cardano.

**2. Few people use Litecoin. **

Only 28 people have used Litecoin in the past seven days, while over 97.8% have either never used it or used it more than a month ago.

Surprisingly, Litecoin has the fifth highest number of daily active users on DeFiLlama.

**3. The Polygon community is also very strong. **

Polygon PoS and zkEVM polls both received 50% more votes than other chains.

This shows that Polygon zkEVM is being used more actively than zkSync Era despite zkSync airdrop expectations.

To be fair, this result is biased.

4、 BNB Chain > Solana > Avalanche。

BNB Chain has more users than Solana and Avalanche in the past 7 days.

40% of voters have never used BNB Chain, and the proportion is even higher for Solana (56%) and Avalanche (63%).

BNB Chain is the most used blockchain after Ethereum, Polygon PoS and Bitcoin.

**5. In addition to Ethereum L1, voters most like to use the Optimistic Rollup chain. **

A quarter of voters have used Arbitrum in the past seven days, followed closely by Base and Optimism.

**6. Ethereum is still king. **

Although the market seems calm, 37% of people have used the Ethereum mainnet in the past seven days.

But there are also 17% who have never used it, probably due to high gas fees and cheaper alternatives.

**7. Tron is the reason I wanted to do a poll in the first place. **

According to Defillama data, it ranks first in daily active users, but more than 70% of voters have never used it.

Why is there such a gap?

According to comments on the post by Twitter user peapo l2 6.stark, Tron is commonly used for CEX transfers and as a payment method in developing countries with weak banking systems.

Note that these users may not be on Twitter, which could bias the results.

Summary

This survey does not meet basic scientific research standards and represents only a small portion of Crypto Twitter users interested in DeFi. Additionally, the Cardano and Polygon communities are more active, potentially leading to underrepresentation of other communities.
