Project Overview
Saffron is a DeFi protocol that transforms variable yield (for example, fees accrued by a DEX liquidity pool, or new ETH generated by staked ETH) into fixed yield. Saffron vaults have two sides: fixed and variable. Participants who choose the fixed side deposit a productive asset into the vault and immediately receive a payment from the variable side. The variable side, in return, earns all yield generated by the fixed side’s productive asset. Variable‑side users take on the underlying asset’s volatility risk but have multiplied upside and can withdraw from the vault at any time. Saffron vaults naturally produce an efficient DeFi interest rate swap market by matching fixed and variable‑rate depositors who wish to exchange their future yield.
