People cultivate themselves in this world; the place where you live and work is your sacred ground. You must learn to choose and transform your own sacred ground. Don't easily form connections with people, and don't rashly change your sacred ground. In one place, you need both stability and cannot stay too long. When you are in a place with good fortune and qi, you will absorb that place's fortune and qi. That's why some people, by being in the right place, prosper more and more. Conversely, if you stay in a place too long, you will deplete its qi until it becomes negative, then you must leave immediately. This is also why old houses are unsuitable for habitation—because old objects will conversely drain your qi. For places where you clearly sense the magnetic field is off, you can stay briefly, but must leave promptly. People have roots, just like trees. When roots take hold in a thriving place, naturally a person develops well. When roots take hold in a declining, impoverished place, naturally a person's circumstances deteriorate year after year.
