Meituan Travel: "Qingming + Spring Break" drives overall growth in dining, entertainment, and leisure spending

People’s Finance and News April 7 report: On April 7, data released by Meituan Travel show that, influenced by the overlapping effects of the “spring holiday” and the Qingming small holiday, all kinds of consumption—including dining, entertainment, and other activities at travel destinations—grew significantly. Among them, tourism and cultural consumption from Sichuan and Jiangsu increased by 41% and 45%, respectively. Going out during the holidays not only boosted major scenic spots, but also sparked consumption in urban commercial districts. The daily average traffic to Dianping’s “Must-Try List” rose by 111% year over year in the same period. Nanchang, Yangzhou, Xuzhou, Jiaxing, Zhuhai, Quanzhou, Nantong, Shaoxing, Jinhua, and Taizhou were selected as the Top 10 “hidden-gem food towns” with the highest holiday popularity.
