just been reading about private banking and honestly kind of wild how different banks cater to wealthy people. like J.P. Morgan has this whole concierge vibe for ultra-high-net-worth folks, Bank of America wants $3M minimum just to get started, and Citi is basically global with 160+ countries. but here's the thing - if you're not quite at millionaire status yet, Chase Private Client seems way more accessible at $150K minimum. they throw in unlimited ATM refunds and no wire fees which is pretty solid. the whole private banking thing is interesting because these banks for the wealthy apparently offer completely different service levels than regular accounts. like you get dedicated advisors, investment management, estate planning all bundled together. makes sense that someone with serious money wouldn't want to deal with 1-800 customer service numbers lol. curious if anyone here actually uses any of these banks for the wealthy or if it's just something people aspire to?
