The Cambodian Senate unanimously passed a new law aimed at groups involved in online fraud, imposing penalties of up to life imprisonment for organizers. On April 3, 2026, the Cambodian Senate passed the Technology Crime Prevention Law with 58 votes in favor. Offenders whose activities have resulted in deaths may face life imprisonment or a prison sentence of 15 to 30 years.
