ETH: Holding Firm at 2050, Can It Break Through 2200 Tonight?

Last night's market was dull, with Bitcoin and Ethereum seeming to "lie flat." The key level at 2050 saw a slight dip but was not broken, and the middle band of the Bollinger Bands remained solid support, leaving a glimmer of hope for the bulls.

On the news front, the three major US stock indices all closed lower, with crypto-related stocks taking a collective hit—MARA down 5.6%, RIOT down 5.3%, etc.—directly dragging the crypto market into a downturn. However, market sentiment is not entirely bearish; the probability of Bitcoin first rising to 80,000 and then falling to 60,000 is nearly 50/50. This suggests that while bottom-fishing funds are cautious, they are not panicking and fleeing. After the US stock market opens tonight, the market's attitude will be crucial. If US stocks stabilize, the crypto market is likely to rebound first.

From a technical perspective, the 4-hour candlestick chart shows that the current price at 2085 is above the middle Bollinger Band. The Bollinger Bands are narrowing, indicating that the consolidation phase is ending and a trend reversal is imminent. The Money Flow Index (MFI) is in the middle zone, with neither bulls nor bears gaining momentum. Recent declining volume is typical of a consolidation phase, often signaling an upcoming major move. As long as it does not fall below 2050, the 4-hour timeframe remains bullish. Once broken, the strength will likely be significant, with 2150 as the first hurdle. If surpassed, a push toward 2200 is possible.

In terms of trading strategy, since the structure remains intact, consider a small long position around 2080, targeting first 2100, then 2150 upon breakout. Place stop-loss below 2050; if volume increases and it breaks down, cut losses and switch to a short position.

This kind of oscillating market can be very anxiety-inducing, but the main force's intention to shake out weak hands is clear. The support at 2050 has been validated multiple times. During consolidation, avoid chasing highs or panicking at lows. Either stay put or lightly position for the next move, and add to positions once the trend is clearer. Opportunities are always present; calm and disciplined trading is the best approach. $ETH
