(MENAFN) Former President Joe Biden has stayed mostly out of the public eye for several months while receiving treatment for an aggressive form of prostate cancer. While his inner circle remains hopeful, some longtime friends and close allies have privately expressed concern about the physical demands on the 83-year-old, according to reports.

Biden was diagnosed in May 2025 with Stage 4 prostate cancer that had spread to his bones. Aides describe the condition as manageable with ongoing treatment.

Nearly a year into therapy, his team reports that Biden is handling the situation well, continuing to work on projects including his memoir, plans for his foundation, and the presidential library, with several public engagements reportedly planned.

However, some longtime associates — including two former officials and a Democrat elected official close to him — have privately observed that he has appeared increasingly fatigued in recent weeks.

No major updates on his health have been released since last May, when it was disclosed that he had an aggressive, hormone-sensitive form of prostate cancer and was undergoing hormone therapy.
