As of the time of writing, Q Technology (01478) is up 7.89%, trading at HKD 9.3; AAC Technologies (02018) is up 4.77%, trading at HKD 38.66; Sunny Optical (02382) is up 4.3%, trading at HKD 59.4; and Goertek (01415) is up 2.88%, trading at HKD 29.28.

On the news front, according to Omdia’s estimates, global smartphone shipments are expected to grow 2% year-over-year in 2025, reaching 1.25 billion units. In Q4 2025, the global smartphone market is projected to grow 4% year-over-year. This growth is driven by seasonal demand recovery and improved inventory management, but some manufacturers are beginning to feel the impact of rising component costs. Canalys predicts that by 2025, AI smartphone penetration will reach 34%, with streamlined edge models and upgraded chip computing power further promoting AI smartphones’ penetration into the mid-range price segment.

BOC International states that AIGC technology will drive the evolution of edge-side products toward multimodal interactions such as voice and gestures. The interaction hub is shifting from traditional app systems to AI intelligent agents, gradually weakening the direct connection between users and apps. The Doubao mobile assistant has already shown the initial signs of this trend. Although the products are still in early stages, the maturation of features and optimization of user experience are expected to revolutionize AI interaction modes, potentially sparking a wave of device upgrades in the next 1-3 years, thereby catalyzing the mid- and downstream trends in the AI industry chain.
