#WeekendMarketAnalysis Tom Lee, in an interview with CNBC, stated that Bitcoin could reach a new all-time high this year, and Ethereum will surpass Bitcoin.
Lee, Chairman of BitMine and co-founder of Fundstrat, claimed that the market performance in the early days of the year signals a positive outlook for the rest of the period.
Lee said, “From a general market perspective, the gains in the first days of January are very good news. This is a very positive sign for the entire year and suggests upward potential toward our 7,700 target for the S&P 500.”
Noting that recent fluctuations in financial markets and crypto assets are partly driven by policy developments, Lee warned that if Washington implements measures to limit credit card interest rates, it could cause a serious shock in the financial sector. According to Lee, such regulation could weaken the capacity of financial institutions to extend credit to a broader consumer base.
On the other hand, Lee highlighted that progress recorded in the Clarity Act is a positive development for the crypto industry. Recalling that the crypto market took a significant hit last October, Lee expressed optimism for a strong recovery as time passes and the impact diminishes.
In this context, Tom Lee, who is optimistic about Bitcoin, stated, “We believe Bitcoin has the potential to reach new heights this year. Additionally, we are even more positive about Ethereum and expect it to outperform Bitcoin,” he said.
