Recently, Pakistani law enforcement agencies carried out a large-scale crackdown in Karachi, successfully dismantling a particularly rampant transnational scam gang. The amount involved in their crimes totals over $60 million.

You need to know their tactics: they specifically target social media and various instant messaging apps, impersonating traders or claiming to be "insiders," using long-term social engineering methods to deceive people. In simple terms, they spend time building rapport and trust with you, then guide you to invest funds.

This incident reminds us to stay vigilant. In the crypto world, no one will really tell you online that they have "insider information" or unique opportunities. When you see such accounts, just pass them by—don't fall for it. Protecting your wallet is more important than anything else.

On-chain data shows that these types of scam cases have been emerging since last year. I monitored the flow of several suspicious wallet addresses late at night, and the $60 million is just the tip of the iceberg. Based on past experience, truly large transfers usually occur between 3-5 AM UTC, as these people are very good at anti-investigation techniques. It’s worth noting that social engineering methods combined with smart contract delayed execution involve a higher level of technical skill than expected. As expected, from the code, they used multi-signature wallets as intermediaries. Friends who want to dig deeper can just check Etherscan themselves. The interesting part is that those caught are only the peripheral players; the real masterminds are still on the chain. Accounts claiming to tell you "inside information" online are just trash. I’ve been saying this repeatedly since 2017, but unfortunately, some people still fall for it. Wallet security always comes first, followed by choosing the right coins.

Over 60 million dollars, these guys really dare to do it. I'll just say, those brothers who always talk about insider info are not good people. --- This scam is just like that, if you still believe strangers' nonsense, then you deserve it. Protect your wallet, that's the most important. --- Wow, this gang is so rampant, no wonder they were wiped out. Be cautious of those who add you to their accounts, really. --- They can scam up to 60 million, this social engineering is truly brilliant. I’ll just block anyone who talks to me about exclusive opportunities. --- Why do people keep falling for it? The tricks are so obvious. Anyway, I don’t trust any "insiders" online. --- By the way, these scammers are even better at hype than I am, just using the wrong platform haha.
