The issuer of the stablecoin USDT, Tether(Tether), has reported that it is pursuing the acquisition of Italy’s prestigious football club Juventus. Tether has expressed its intention to purchase the entire stake held by Exor(Exor), Juventus’s major shareholder, and if the acquisition is successful, plans to invest approximately 1 billion euros(about 150 billion won).

Paolo Arneino, CEO of Tether, said, “Juventus has been a part of my life,” adding, “Since my youth, I have learned dedication, responsibility, and resilience through this team.” Arneino is Italian and has been a passionate fan of Juventus since childhood.

Exor is a holding company controlled by the founding family of the Fiat(Fiat) automobile group. This acquisition proposal is subject to regulatory approval.

This year, Tether has shown rapid growth and is accelerating diversification of its business. It has earned about $10 billion in profit from January to September 2025, and based on this, it has invested in physical assets such as artificial intelligence(AI) and gold.

Earlier, Tether acquired a minority stake in Juventus in February. Juventus currently maintains partnerships with global brands such as Adidas, Jeep(Jeep), and Allianz(Allianz). Tether emphasized, “If this acquisition is successful, we will fully support the club’s sustainable development and strengthening of its global influence.”
