At the close on December 4, major markets showed divergent trends.
In precious metals, gold saw a slight increase and held steady, while silver failed to keep pace and declined. The energy market, however, moved in unison with crude oil prices rising across the board. The three major U.S. stock indexes each had their own trajectory— the Dow closed slightly lower, while the Nasdaq and S&P 500 both posted modest gains.
Looking at Europe, most major stock indexes ended in the green, with Spain's IBEX35 leading the gains. In the domestic A-share market, the ChiNext Index performed impressively, rising over 1%, while the Shanghai Composite saw a slight dip.
The cryptocurrency market came under collective pressure today. Both Bitcoin and Ethereum pulled back, and Litecoin fell even more sharply, with a drop of over 3%. Market sentiment cooled somewhat, leading to increased short-term volatility.
