CoinVoice has learned that, according to Cointelegraph, Simon Gerovich, CEO of the Japanese listed company Metaplanet, revealed in an interview with the Financial Times that the company plans to acquire a Digital Bank in the second phase of its Bitcoin strategy, which includes a Digital Bank in Japan. Currently, Metaplanet holds 15555 BTC and plans to increase its open interest to 210,000 by 2027 (approximately 1% of the total Bitcoin supply).
Gerovich likens this strategy to the "Bitcoin gold rush," emphasizing the need to quickly build an advantage before competition in the industry intensifies.
