The Aptos community proposes to reduce the annual yield on staking by nearly 50% in order to increase capital efficiency.
MoonSheisty, a member of the Aptos community, proposed on April 18 to gradually reduce the annual yield rate on APT token staking from 7% to 3.79%, to be implemented within three months to enhance capital efficiency and to make it consistent with other L1 blockchains. The proposal attracted the attention of the community, and some members expressed concerns that this move could weaken the participation of smaller validators and potentially affect the level of decentralization.
