High-speed Layer 1 blockchain Sui mainnet suddenly encountered a consensus issue, resulting in a “network stall” phenomenon across the entire network. Transaction processing was temporarily halted, and applications like SuiScan and Slush could not operate normally. However, the core team has quickly intervened to fix the problem.

Tonight (14th), the Sui blockchain mainnet experienced a technical failure, resulting in a network stall. The main cause was an issue at the consensus layer, affecting the synchronization and block production of all validators. Sui official announced on X platform that the core team has actively intervened:
The Sui mainnet is currently experiencing a network stall, and the Sui core team is actively working on a solution. Please note that dApps such as Slush or SuiScan may be temporarily unavailable, and transaction processing may be slow or temporarily unable to execute. We will share further updates as soon as possible.

According to the Sui official status page (status.sui.io), the issue was first marked as “Investigating” at 6:52 AM Pacific Time, indicating a consensus problem among all validators; it was then updated at 7:18 AM to “Issue confirmed, implementing fix.” As of now, the incident remains unresolved, and the mainnet has not yet resumed normal block production. Some block explorers show that more than an hour has passed without new checkpoints being produced.
Looking back, Sui experienced a similar network stall in November 2024 caused by a transaction scheduling bug, lasting about 2 hours. The team quickly released a patch and restarted block production.
