Silent Wallets Make Noise

Seasoned holders have been busy moving their dormant bitcoin stashes throughout July, making it one of the biggest months ever for these sleepy coins to re-enter the wild. Following our recent report spotlighting 101,003 long-dormant bitcoin from 2011 to 2017 springing to life, another 471.8678 BTC quietly moved over the past 48 hours.

Leading the charge was a bitcoin address born on April 8, 2013, which transferred 14.55 BTC—worth $1.7 million—for the first time in 12 years and 3 months. Interestingly, btcparser.com stats show an address created just two days later on Apr. 10, 2013, moved 181 BTC—roughly $21.6 million—at block height 907225.
