The U.S. dollar index, which measures the U.S. dollar against six major currencies, rose 0.53% on the day to close at 99.228 at the end of the foreign exchange market. At the end of trading in New York, the euro was worth $1.1375, down from $1.1441 in the previous session, and the pound was worth $1.3525, down from $1.3540 in the previous session. The U.S. dollar was worth 143.91 yen, up from 142.82 yen in the previous session, the U.S. dollar was worth 0.8238 Swiss francs, up from 0.8170 Swiss francs in the previous session, the U.S. dollar was worth 1.3716 Canadian dollars, up from 1.3712 Canadian dollars in the previous session, and the U.S. dollar was worth 9.6231 Swedish kronor, up from 9.5267 Swedish kronor in the previous session.
