Gas Hero Community Test First Day Trial First Experience (with Rapid Growth Tutorial)
Original | Odaily Planet Daily
Author | Azuma
On November 27, Beijing time, Gas Hero, the second game produced by STEPN’s development team FindSatoshiLab, officially launched the Community Test.
A total of 3,000 community users will be eligible for this round of testing, and the qualifications will be distributed to different groups such as holders of Gas Hero NFT badges, Find Satoshi Lab ambassadors, and partners.
All assets during the beta will be on the PolygonMumbai testnet and will not be transferred to the mainnet after the beta opens. This also means that when the open beta starts, all users will need to start their gaming journey from scratch.
In order to facilitate the smooth experience of the game, Gas Hero will provide a number of resources to all test players, including:
Today at 11:00, Gas Hero officially opened the entrance to the community test, and Odaily also conducted a trial for the first time. Next, we’ll take you through the game content that has been released during the beta phase of Gas Hero, and help you get started as soon as possible based on your own gameplay experience.
First of all, Gas Hero uses an email login method similar to STEPN, enter the email address that has been qualified for the test in the login window, and get the verification code to log in to the game. The main interface after the login is completed is shown in the figure below.
Next, we can click on the avatar to make some personalized settings, such as adjusting the language to Chinese, or changing the name of random characters (we changed it to Odailytest).
After these settings, we can officially start the game, the first thing we need to do is to use the 4 “free heroes” that are officially given away to configure the lineup. It is recommended to put 2 “Free Heroes” with slightly thicker HP in the rightmost column (i.e., the front row of real battles) to resist damage, and the other 2 “Free Heroes” with slightly higher attack power in the middle column (i.e., the middle row of real battles) to resist damage.
Once configured, we need to complete seven more levels of “Underground Battles” (1-7 in the main screen above) to “land” and unlock more game content. Each battle will consume 2 points of “energy” (which can be understood as the physical strength in STEPN), the battle is relatively easy overall, after winning the battle, you will drop 1 “hero potion” for upgrading heroes, and the difficulty of the last two levels will increase slightly, we only need to use potions to simply upgrade the heroes in the front row to level 2 or 3 to clear the level stably, pay attention not to increase more, because these “free heroes” have a short lifespan.
After completing the seven levels of the challenge, we can “land”. It should be noted here that the system will automatically assign the landing location by default, but players can actually choose it manually, and we chose “Tokyo - District 1 - Guild 1 - Settlement 1” for the reason that there are many players in the real world.
“Landing” requires the cost of 1 base car prop given by the official (given by this road test, and the official game needs to be purchased), and then new functions such as “Laboratory” (for hero synthesis and skill upgrades, etc.), “Map” (for switching game scenes), and “Market” (for item trading) will be unlocked. At this point, our main interface will also change to a new look.
At this time, we can use the 300 “Hero Fragments”, 200 “Weapon Fragments”, and 200 “Pet Fragments” given by the official to craft some more valuable “Heroes”, “Weapons” and “Pets”.
Before performing the synthesis operation, the system will ask us to generate an on-chain address, which can be operated step by step according to the official process guide, and after the address is generated, you can view the private key and mnemonic phrase in the “Wallet” interface in the upper right corner, please remember to keep it properly. After that, we need to claim some MATIC for testing through the faucet on the Mumbai testnet, otherwise we won’t be able to perform the on-chain minting of these NFT items.
Returning to the synthesis of “Heroes”, “Weapons” and “Pets”, we can simply understand “Heroes” as “shoes” in STEPN, which is the main item for us to experience Gas Hero, and “Weapons” and “Pets” can be understood as “gems” in STEPN, which are some auxiliary items that amplify the hero’s abilities.
It’s worth mentioning that the lifespan of the “heroes” synthesized in this form is 20 days, which is enough to cover the entire round of community testing, so some of the “hero potions” that you have saved can be used to upgrade these “heroes” at this time, and then add these heroes to the lineup through the lineup configuration - it should also be noted here that the attack range will be prompted when configuring the lineup, and some “heroes” will not be able to attack the enemy in the back row.
Of course, you can also choose to put “Heroes”, “Weapons” and “Pets” on the “Market” for sale, but since the GMT airdrop on the first day will not be distributed until 23:00 (everyone only has items in their hands and no coins), they can only place orders for the time being, and cannot be traded for real.
At present, the game operations that players can perform after “landing” are mainly to engage in some battles in the “settlement” scene, so as to obtain resources such as crafting or cultivating “heroes”. As shown in the main screen after “landing” in the picture above, the “AI Barracks” will produce “Hero Potions”, the “Zoo” will produce “Pet Fragments”, and the “Movement Relics” will produce “Weapon Fragments”.
Since “energy” is more precious at present, and a challenge will consume 5 “energy”, it is recommended that players give priority to challenging the “AI Barracks” (difficulty can be easy #2) at this stage, and first increase the level of their “heroes” before considering others.
In addition to the “Settlement” scene, players can also switch the scene to other levels through the “Map”, such as “City”, “District”, “Guild”, etc., and experience some higher-level gameplay.
For example, players can experience the “Guild Auction House” or “Arena” in the “Guild” scenario, or experience the more advanced “Jurisdiction Auction House” in the “Jurisdiction” scenario, or even run for the “Speaker”.
However, since this round of testing has just begun, the first round of GMT airdrops and some game content have not yet been released, so if you want to experience these higher-level gameplay, you still need to wait, Odaily will closely track the progress of the game, and update the experience again after the test is deepened.
Finally, I would like to note that although this round of testing is in the form of deletion, Gas Hero has announced a number of incentives to encourage community participation, such as providing the top 100 players with the highest performance during the community test period with the official version of the item incentive, and the lottery incentive for players who reach 80 “Combat Power” during the test period (which can be seen in the small flame under the avatar).
At present, these game items of Gas Hero have a good price performance in the Mooar market, and I hope that players who are eligible to experience this round of closed beta can enjoy the game and win more prizes.
