Just went through the latest wealth distribution data and it's pretty wild how concentrated millionaire populations really are. New York City tops the list with nearly 385k millionaires, followed by the Bay Area at around 342k. Interesting thing though - the US dominates with 11 cities in the top 50, accounting for 22% of the ranking overall.

What caught my eye was the growth patterns. Dubai's millionaire population nearly doubled over the past decade, up 102%. Shenzhen in China saw even crazier growth at 142%. Meanwhile, some established wealth hubs like London actually saw millionaire populations decline by 12%. Makes you wonder where wealth is actually flowing these days.

The data shows you've got major wealth centers scattered globally - Tokyo, Singapore, Los Angeles all have massive millionaire bases. But if you're asking which city has the most millionaires, it's clearly New York. The metros with the highest concentration of ultra-wealthy (centimillionaires and billionaires) tend to be the smaller, more exclusive cities like Geneva, Zurich, and Singapore though. Different story depending on what you're measuring.

The report from Henley & Partners breaks down not just millionaires but centimillionaires and billionaires too. Cities like Paris, London, and Tokyo have been wealth centers forever, but the real action seems to be in emerging markets now. Feels like the next wave of wealth creation is happening in places like Beijing, Shanghai, and Mumbai rather than traditional financial capitals.
