The volume of Xuzhou rail-sea combined transportation reaches a new historical high
This article is reprinted from: Xinhua Daily
Rail-sea combined transportation volume in the first quarter increased by over 142% year-on-year
Xuzhou rail-sea joint transport volume hits a new record high
Our newspaper report (Reporter Zhang Yaowen): On April 7, the reporter learned from Xuzhou Huaihai International Port Area that in the first quarter of this year, Xuzhou’s rail-sea combined transport completed a total of 7,520 standard containers, an increase of over 142% year-on-year, setting a new record; 77 “point-to-point” direct train services were launched, including 34 in March, breaking the monthly record for the number of services.
The growth in these figures reflects the continuous expansion of Xuzhou’s corridor construction and the accelerating improvement of a multi-port coordinated development pattern. On March 25, the Xuzhou Qingshanquan Station (Jiawang Shuanglou Port) to Qingdao Port rail-sea joint train was successfully launched for the first time, adding a new station to the Xuzhou–Qingdao route. Currently, multiple dispatch points such as Xuzhou Tongshan Station, Xinyi Station, Feng County Station, and Qingshanquan Station have taken shape, making the logistics corridor connecting rivers and seas more smooth.
As a national-level premium multimodal transport route, the Xuzhou–Lianyungang rail-sea joint transport continues to develop rapidly. In the first quarter, this route handled 3,624 standard containers, an increase of 535.79% year-on-year; since February this year, the train services have maintained scheduled, high-frequency, and regular operation, effectively supporting local and surrounding enterprises’ export needs.
Additionally, as overseas market demand continues to recover, local engineering machinery export orders in Xuzhou have increased significantly, placing higher demands on logistics timeliness and stability. Xuzhou’s rail-sea joint transport is focusing on customized exclusive logistics services. In the first quarter, the “Xugong Special Train” dispatched 3,210 standard containers, including 21 services in February. Multiple parties such as Xuzhou Railway, Customs, and Ports are continuously collaborating to optimize operational processes, ensuring efficient overseas deployment of Xuzhou manufacturing.
