Iranian Foreign Minister Amir Abdollahian said in an interview with Qatar’s Al Jazeera on March 31 that Iran has not yet responded to the U.S. “15-point plan” for ending the conflict. Abdollahian stated that Iran has not responded to the “15-point plan” and has not made any proposals or conditions. Abdollahian also said that Iran has not made any decisions regarding negotiations. He emphasized, “Our conditions for ending the war are clear,” and Iran will not be satisfied with a simple ceasefire but demands a complete end to conflicts across the region. During the interview, Abdollahian mentioned that he “directly” received information from U.S. Special Envoy Wittekov, but he stressed that Iran does not consider there to be an official negotiation process with the U.S. According to reports from Iranian media on the 30th, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani stated that Iran has not engaged in any direct negotiations with the U.S. to date, and the U.S. proposed ceasefire plan is “excessive and unreasonable.” (Xinhua)
