Nearly 40% year-on-year increase: During the Spring Festival travel season, Hainan's off-island duty-free shopping amount approached 7.5 billion yuan
During the Spring Festival travel rush in 2026 (February 2 to March 12), Haikou Customs supervised a total of 7.49 billion yuan in duty-free shopping on offshore islands, a year-on-year increase of 39.8%; the number of shoppers reached 937k, a year-on-year increase of 30.5%. To cope with the booming sales, Haikou Customs centralized its human resources to provide services such as appointment-based customs clearance and appointment review for enterprises, supported same-vehicle transportation and rapid delivery, accelerated the turnover efficiency of duty-free goods, and ensured that popular products were replenished and put on shelves in a timely manner, fully meeting the diversified consumption needs of island travelers during the Spring Festival.
