USAF selects Honeywell SkyShot 1600 for autonomous aircraft propulsion prototype

The U.S. Air Force has awarded Honeywell a contract to prototype a propulsion system for autonomous aircraft, using its new SkyShot 1600 engine. This engine, designed for collaborative combat aircraft, offers flexible configurations (turbojet or turbofan) and thrust levels from 800 to 2,800 pounds. Honeywell is leveraging advanced digital modeling and manufacturing techniques to expedite its development and production.
