Deep Tide TechFlow News, March 04 — The Goldman Sachs Global Research Institute's latest report warns that over $15 billion in insurance industry commissions face significant risks from AI disintermediation. The report states that large language model digital agents can effectively replace most of the work done by 20,000 to 30,000 independent agents in the United States, especially in low-complexity transaction areas such as standard home and auto insurance. Analysts studied six major insurance companies, including Travelers and Progressive, and found that a substantial portion of the commissions paid to independent agents in 2025 will come from low-complexity business.
