Paraguay's national electricity company ANDE has signed a memorandum of understanding with crypto infrastructure company Morphware, planning to launch the country's first government-led Bitcoin mining project using Bitcoin miners seized by law enforcement. The pilot phase will deploy approximately 1,500 confiscated miners and utilize local surplus hydropower resources for compliant mining. Under the cooperation agreement, ANDE will be responsible for the ownership and regulation of the mining farm, while Morphware will provide technical and operational guidance. Regarding the mined Bitcoin, government officials are discussing whether to sell directly for public spending or hedge risks through financial markets and hold some assets. (Bitcoin Magazine)
