Li Xiang Tang Jing confirms that MEGA does not have an extended-range version: the front is too short to fit an extended-range generator.
IT House, March 1 — Tao Jing, head of product line at Li Auto, confirmed last night that the Li Auto MEGA has no extended-range version. The MEGA is built on a pure electric architecture, with only a very short, necessary crash-absorbing space at the front, leaving all available space for the cabin. If a range extender were added, the front would need to be lengthened, which would mean it’s no longer a MEGA. Therefore, there is no MEGA with a range extender.
IT House notes that the pure electric MPV model MEGA was launched in March 2024, and later in April 2025, Li Auto released the MEGA Ultra Intelligent Refresh Edition and the MEGA Home Family Special Edition.
