After the United States and Israel declared war on Iran, neighboring countries’ data centers were also affected. Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced on March 3 the status of data centers in the Middle East, stating that 25 services in AWS Middle East UAE remain disrupted, with dozens of AWS services affected in the UAE and Bahrain. AWS explained that due to ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, the infrastructure in both the UAE and Bahrain has suffered physical damage from drone attacks.

“6G infrastructure, chips, and devices will be ready by the end of 2028, and could be commercially available as early as 2029,” said Cristiano Amon, President and CEO of Qualcomm (Nasdaq: QCOM), during his speech at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona on March 3. Amon noted that the telecommunications industry typically sees a new generation of mobile technology every ten years, and even-numbered generations tend to perform better than odd-numbered ones—2G era saw a boom in mobile devices with everyone using phones; 3G enabled device connectivity; 4G brought the smartphone revolution; 5G empowered high-definition video applications.
