The incident was caused by an unidentified object striking the facility and sparking a fire, resulting in the outage of the availability zone coded mec1-az2. To assist firefighting efforts, the facility’s power has been cut off. AWS states that restoring connectivity in the affected area is expected to take several hours, and other availability zones within the UAE are operating normally.
