Jollibee Foods Corp. (JBFCF) is leaning further into South Korea as it sharpens its global expansion playbook, signing a definitive agreement to acquire a Korean hot pot brand for around $87 million. The Philippines’ largest restaurant operator said a subsidiary will purchase All Day Fresh Co. Ltd., the company behind Seoul-based eat-all-you-can chain Shabu All Day. Management framed the move as reinforcing its Chinese cuisine segment and franchising initiatives, while also providing entry into the global hot pot category.

Shabu All Day operated 169 stores across South Korea as of January 2025, making it the largest player in the country by store count, and generated annual system-wide sales of $285 million. Elevation will retain its 30% stake in All Day Fresh and remain a strategic partner, which could support continuity as Jollibee integrates the business. The structure suggests Jollibee is adding scale while keeping an experienced local partner in place.
The transaction follows Jollibee’s July acquisition of a 70% stake in South Korea-based Compose Coffee for $340 million, pointing to what could be a deliberate buildout in one of Asia’s more competitive consumer markets. The group, which built a fast-food empire in the Philippines around its fried chicken, has been expanding globally and competing with chains such as KFC under Yum! Brands and McDonald’s. It has also said it plans to spin off its business outside the Philippines and pursue a US listing, a step that could further reposition its international operations in the eyes of global investors.
