A sports arena in southern Iran was bombed, resulting in the death of 20 female volleyball players.

On February 28, local authorities in Iran reported that a sports stadium in Ramehird, Fars Province, in southern Iran, was hit during airstrikes carried out by Israel and the United States, resulting in the deaths of up to 20 female volleyball players. Earlier reports from Iran indicated that some minors were present in the stadium at the time of the airstrikes. It is also claimed that four other facilities in Ramehird were struck. Additionally, officials from East Azerbaijan Province in northwestern Iran stated that the airstrikes by the U.S. and Israel on February 28 caused the deaths of six people and injured 45 in cities including Tabriz.
