China Calls for Immediate Halt of Military Actions to Prevent Escalation of Middle East Situation
On February 28th, local time, the United Nations Security Council held an emergency meeting on the situation in Iran. Chinese Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Fu Cong, stated at the meeting that the United States and Israel have brazenly launched military strikes inside Iran, causing a sudden escalation of regional tensions. China expresses deep concern about this. Fu Cong pointed out that force is not the correct way to resolve international disputes and will only intensify hatred and conflicts. The escalation of the Middle East situation spilling over is not in anyone’s interest. Resolving differences through dialogue and negotiations is the only way out.
