The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China, the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, and the National Supervisory Commission jointly issued the “Notice on Strictly Enforcing Election Discipline and Strengthening Supervision of Election Atmosphere.” The notice clarifies the “Ten Prohibitions” regarding election discipline, which are: strictly prohibit forming cliques and factions; strictly prohibit speculative schemes and associating with political fraudsters; strictly prohibit vote-buying and election bribery; strictly prohibit seeking official positions through connections or buying and selling offices; strictly prohibit illegal interference and favoritism; strictly prohibit personal decision-making; strictly prohibit “nomination with defects” and “promotion with defects”; strictly prohibit illegal personnel appointments; strictly prohibit falsification, leaks, and misconduct; and strictly prohibit disrupting the election process. Violations of election discipline will be dealt with seriously in accordance with rules, regulations, laws, and discipline. (CCTV News)
