A new report from Homes.com, a CoStar Group company, indicates that U.S. home prices saw a 1.3% year-over-year increase in January 2026, with the median sale price reaching $374,900. The report highlights an improved balance between buyers and sellers, characterized by normal inventory levels and median days on the market. Growth was strongest in Northeast and Midwestern markets, while some Southern and Western cities experienced price declines.
