On the afternoon of February 20th local time, off the coast of Toba City, Mie Prefecture, Japan, a cargo ship collided with a recreational fishing boat, causing the fishing boat to break in two and capsize. All 13 people on board fell into the water. Although everyone has been rescued, two are in cardiopulmonary arrest, and seven others are injured, with two in serious condition. The cargo ship involved is responsible for transporting steel and is owned by a shipping company in Hiroshima Prefecture. The struck fishing boat is described as a recreational vessel designed for fishing experiences. Currently, the Japan Coast Guard is investigating the accident.
