Currrenxie launches cross-border payments account for SMEs in the UK

The move comes as tariffs cause global volatility, with Currenxie citing the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply’s recent warning that consumer goods prices are likely to soar during 2026, with over a fifth of supply chain businesses reporting shipping costs have increased by more than 10%.

Increased supply chain costs and continued economic uncertainty mean businesses must look to boost margins where possible to remain competitive, says the firm. For merchants operating internationally, this includes sourcing suppliers from more cost-effective markets and growing customer bases through new markets.

Businesses are typically reliant on their bank for critical high value transfers and cross-border payments, however this may not always be the best option, particularly for SMEs, with higher costs and slower processing times, claims the firm.

Its answer - the Currenxie Global Account - offers bank and wallet payments, foreign exchange, and Visa Business cards for users to manage expenses. This allows businesses to transact in different currencies and speeds up transactions, enabling SMEs to send and manage cross-border payments through a single, multi-currency platform and a real-time, 24 hours FX service.
