Hunan aquatic product market is active in buying and selling, with relatively small fluctuations in essential commodity prices

Hunan Province’s Department of Commerce Market Monitoring Data shows that during the Spring Festival, the overall water product market across the province was well-stocked and active in buying and selling. Prices for poultry and eggs fluctuated slightly, and the prices of daily necessities remained generally stable.

One week before the festival, the water product market was well-stocked and active, with a wide variety of fresh aquatic products available to meet different consumer needs during the Spring Festival. Under the influence of concentrated holiday consumption demand, prices for various water products fluctuated in an orderly manner.

Monitoring indicates that the average retail price of water products across the province was 30.14 yuan per kilogram, a slight increase of 0.5%. The retail prices of eight key monitored water products all rose across the board, including grass carp, crucian carp, large hairtail, large yellow croaker, carp, river crabs, silver carp, and shrimp, with increases of 0.2%, 0.3%, 0.3%, 0.3%, 0.7%, 1%, 1.5%, and 1.9%, respectively. It is expected that during the Spring Festival, the prices of some popular fresh aquatic products will still have limited upward potential, but overall supply is sufficient, and prices are expected to gradually stabilize.

Over the past week, the poultry and egg market across the province operated smoothly with ample supply, effectively meeting the diversified needs of the holiday market. Monitoring shows that the average retail price of poultry products was 25.33 yuan per kilogram, a slight increase of 0.2%; the retail price of eggs was 12.06 yuan per kilogram, a slight decrease of 0.5%. Currently, the poultry and egg market in the province is running smoothly at the retail end. It is expected that during the Spring Festival, poultry and egg consumption will remain stable, with prices mainly fluctuating within a narrow range.

During the Spring Festival, all levels of the province’s commerce authorities strengthened market inspections and supply guarantees. Major supermarkets and wholesale markets actively organized supplies to ensure sufficient stock, a complete variety of essential goods, and smooth logistics. Monitoring shows that prices for dairy products, grains, and cooking oils increased slightly by 0.1%, 0.2%, and 0.2%, respectively, while prices for seasonings and drinking water remained unchanged.
