Georgia Power will host a community meeting regarding ash pond remediation at Plant Hammond

Georgia Power is holding a public meeting on March 24th to discuss the groundwater remediation plan for ash ponds at its retired Plant Hammond facility. The meeting will provide information and gather input from the local community regarding the closure of ash ponds in compliance with federal and state regulations, and the proposed in-situ injection and monitored natural attenuation methods to address identified groundwater contamination.
