Here’s an interesting phenomenon: the Labubu IP is insanely popular, its secondary market prices are sky-high, and there’s strong capital backing it, with a group of die-hard fans blindly chasing after it.

But if you ask me whether it looks good? I really can’t say that it does.

Isn’t this a classic case of “consensus outweighs aesthetics”? As long as something is hyped, even something ugly can become a trend. I’ve seen it a lot in the NFT space—IP value and aesthetics have never really been the same thing.

Yeah, this is basically a game of musical chairs—whoever ends up holding it last will be the one crying. Honestly, it’s just FOMO. Any sense of aesthetics died a long time ago. This thing is truly ugly as hell, but there are still people willing to buy in. Consensus is money. Aesthetics? What’s that? But it’s bound to collapse sooner or later; it’s just a matter of who’s left holding the bag.

Damn, consensus really can turn something extremely ugly into a trend. This isn't a labubi problem, it's a human nature problem.

Well... to put it bluntly, it's just a game of hot potato. Whoever gets stuck at the end is out of luck. Honestly, aesthetics really can't keep up with the speed of fleecing retail investors. Consensus can drive prices sky-high—that's the magic of Web3, folks. I'm tired of seeing this trick; the next batch of targets is already lining up. Beauty or ugliness doesn't matter at all—the key is whether you have chips in your hand.

Haha, you're right, it's just a game of passing the buck. Consensus can hype up anything; aesthetics have long been out. That's how Web3 is—price trends matter much more than looks. What you said really hit home for me, seriously. I've seen this trick too many times in NFTs, it's all the same routine.

Consensus can indeed create value, but you have to be careful with this logic in the secondary market. History shows that those who end up holding the bag are often the ones blinded by the "trend." --- Where is the supply line for this round of hype? To put it simply, it depends on whether there are people willing to carry the torch. Once consensus breaks, even the most outrageous aesthetics can't save it. --- Just because capital is pushing hard doesn't mean it can push all the way. I've seen too many of these "phenomena" collapse straight away in a bear market. Position management is truly a lifesaver. --- LOL, the whole "consensus over aesthetics" thing has been played to death. The key is knowing whether you're speculating or being the exit liquidity—there's a big difference. --- When secondary market prices are so wildly disconnected from actual value, risk hedging is the real way to go. Don't let the trend cloud your judgment.

To be honest, this circle is just a game of musical chairs; whoever hypes things up better wins. The saying "consensus is greater than aesthetics" is spot on, though I also find it a bit absurd. In a word, it's all about speculation. This is probably the magic of Web3—the logic broke down long ago. I definitely don't want to be the last one holding the bag.
