Fed Hamak: Fed policy needs to maintain a certain degree of tightening to drop inflationary pressures.

On November 14, Fed's Hamak stated that the employment aspect of the Fed's responsibilities is facing challenges as the job market softens. Sources have reported that inflation is too high and developing in the wrong direction. The current unemployment rate is close to its highest level. This is a difficult time for monetary policy. Some inflation may be driven by tariffs, but service inflation is indeed worrisome. The Fed's policy needs to maintain a certain degree of tightening to drop inflationary pressures. Tariffs are expected to push inflation rates higher before early next year. ( Jin10 )
