[Trump: Honored to Tour the Renovation of the Fed Building, More Importantly, to Drop Interest Rates] President Trump stated that it was his honor to tour the renovation site of the Fed building (as well as some new buildings!) with Fed Chairman Jerome Powell, Senator Tim Scott, and others. The building renovation has a long way to go, and it would be better if it started sooner, but it is what it is, and I hope it can be completed soon. The cost overruns are significant, but on the positive side, our country is doing well and can almost afford anything—even the cost of this building! It is well known that I previously renovated the old post office building on Pennsylvania Avenue with great success. (The old post office building) total construction costs are just a small fraction of the Fed building costs and are many times the scale of the Fed building. That said, let’s get it done, and more importantly, drop the interest rates.
