Aptos Labs CEO Avery Ching has been appointed as a member of the U.S. CFTC digital asset committee.
On June 30, Aptos Labs announced today that co-founder and CEO Avery Ching has been appointed by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) as a member of the digital asset market group under the Global Markets Advisory Committee. This group consists of 36 experts from leading institutions such as Citadel, BlackRock, BNY Mellon, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, and Morgan Stanley, aimed at providing advice to the CFTC on key issues such as digital assets and promoting the development of relevant policies and regulations. Avery’s addition, along with his recent sharing at the U.S. Congress, highlights the increasingly important role of technology builders in regulatory dialogues. Avery has over a decade of experience in building large-scale infrastructure and, prior to founding Aptos, served as the technical lead for Meta’s encryption platform, overseeing blockchain development, wallet infrastructure, strategy, and the Diem blockchain project, possessing a deep industry background and experience.
