According to a report from Coinworld, on June 20 (UTC+8), the Norwegian government announced plans to implement a temporary ban on the construction of new data centers for crypto mining that use high-energy-consuming technologies, aiming to prioritize the allocation of power resources to other critical industries. This measure is expected to take effect in the fall of 2025. Minister of Digitalization and Administration Karianne Tung stated that the government will "restrict crypto mining activities as much as possible" due to its "extremely high power consumption, which brings almost no significant employment or income to the local economy."
