Multi-platform optimization rules: Meituan cancels rider overtime deductions, Didi lowers the maximum commission rate

On May 8th, Cyberspace Administration of China announced that initial results have been achieved in algorithm governance for lifestyle service platforms, with key platforms such as Meituan, Taobao, and Didi completing multiple algorithm optimization adjustments.

It was mentioned that ensuring workers’ compensation is a priority. Didi Travel lowered its commission cap from 29% to 27%, and launched “Rebate Treasure” to automatically return the portion of the commission exceeding 25% on a monthly basis. Amap reduced the cap for ride-hailing information service fees to 9%. Manbang, Didi Delivery, and Huolala established low-cost freight warning and interception mechanisms. Long-distance freight platforms like Manbang improved mechanisms for rapid resolution of freight disputes, legal recovery, rights protection compensation, and advance payments for compensation.

At the same time, Meituan led the effort to cancel overtime fines, Taobao Flash Sale implemented full coverage of overtime exemption penalties, and JD.com Food Delivery is gradually reducing direct deduction penalties. Key platforms have successively launched fatigue prevention measures. Meituan Food Delivery introduced “4-hour and 8-hour reminders, with a mandatory logout after a total of 12 hours of order running time” fatigue prevention measures. Didi drivers who accumulate 10 hours of online service within 24 hours are forcibly logged out for rest for 6 hours.
