Libbitcoin's Vulnerability Allowed Hackers to Make Off With At Least $900,000 in User Funds

Libbitcoin, an alternative to Bitcoin Core, has been found to have a vulnerability that allowed hackers to steal funds from user wallets. The vulnerability, dubbed Milk Sad, was discovered by security firm Distrust in July. The heist resulted in the theft of at least $900,000 across multiple blockchains, affecting around 2,600 Bitcoin wallets. The vulnerability was due to the insufficient randomness of the seed phrase generated by the Libbitcoin explorer, BX.
