According to a report from IT House on August 13, ChatGPT launched a new feature last month called Custom instructions. This function allows users to set some specific rules and conditions for the robot to control the behavior and output of the robot. For example, users can specify that the bot can only speak a certain language, answer a certain type of question, generate content in a certain format, and so on.
This feature was originally only available to paid users of ChatGPT Plus, but ChatGPT announced on August 10 that the custom command feature is being opened to all users for free. This means anyone can use this feature to customize their own chatbot, including free users.
As previously reported, OpenAI will extend the “custom” function to free users, and does not support the European Union and the United Kingdom for the time being.
