I recently got a hardware wallet, and the experience is pretty good. Personally, I have one hard requirement when choosing a wallet: the private key must be securely locked inside the device and must never be able to come out under any circumstances. As long as this is achieved, I can basically use it with peace of mind.

The real key is that private keys should never be on-chain—this guy really gets it.

The private key not leaving the device is indeed the bottom line; otherwise, it’s no better than a paper wallet.

The private key never leaves the chain, so you can sleep soundly—this is the right way.

The private key never leaves the device—that’s true peace of mind. Everything else is just an illusion.
