The year I turned thirty, I finally figured out the first iron rule about money:

A salary? To put it bluntly, it's just survival money—it has nothing to do with getting rich.

I've seen this a lot in the crypto space. For project teams, nine out of ten people treat their salary as just a side benefit—the real goal is to weave a network of connections and figure out how to link up different resources. Cash flow? That's just a secondary byproduct.

There's a saying that sums it up: What is working for someone else like? You're selling today's hours, not buying tomorrow's ticket to freedom. If you want to break out of this cycle, you need to plan your own exit early, instead of fighting tooth and nail on the rat race path.

The game of trading your time for money always has a ceiling.

Connections in the crypto world are indeed more valuable than a salary, but to be honest, most people haven't gained connections or made money—they're just grinding for nothing.

The blood, sweat, and tears of working in crypto—couldn’t be more accurate. But the ones really making money stopped relying on salaries a long time ago. --- A salary is just a lifeline. Thinking you can board the ship with it? Keep dreaming. --- Nine out of ten project teams are busy networking, while we’re still calculating our monthly paychecks. The gap isn’t even close. --- After all the hustle and grind, all you get is a “thanks for your contribution.” What a joke. --- Trading time for money has a ceiling—everyone knows that. The real problem is, what do you do if you don’t have a ticket to get on board? --- I’ve seen it too many times in crypto: salaries will never keep up with inflation, and you have to rely on side gigs just to survive. --- This is the tragedy of being a worker—you’re selling today’s time and can’t afford tomorrow’s dreams. --- Those project guys really know how to play the game, using salaries to bait people for networking, and we just take the hook. --- To put it bluntly: you’ll never make it big by relying on a salary.

I've been in the crypto circle too. To put it bluntly, your salary can't even afford the ticket to get in; real connections are the true source of traffic.

That's right, working a job is just to get by; real money comes from building connections and paving the way. I've seen a lot in the crypto space too—salary is just something you take along the way, the real core is in networking.

90% of crypto industry workers are just networking; their salaries are just a cover. If you look at the on-chain data, you'll see that the real tokens are all in the hands of the project teams.

The realization came too late—I should have understood long ago that a salary is just an anesthetic. To be honest, I’m tired of the networking games in the crypto world; salary is just a facade. This is the tragedy of being a wage earner: exchanging time for money will never set you free. It’s better to awaken at thirty than just stand on your own at thirty; you have to get out early. Connections are the real assets; salary will never cure poverty. Selling your hours won’t buy you a better tomorrow, and that really hits hard. People in crypto projects saw through this long ago, while we’re still working hard. The ceiling is right there—the question is, who dares to jump up?

That's right, but I'm not particularly optimistic about the networking games in the crypto space either. Too many project teams end up running away in the end.
