What level are VCs at in this circle now? A few days ago at an event in Dubai, someone asked me what I do. I said I work in investment, and immediately they hit me with two classic questions: Which projects have you invested in recently? What's your view on the future trend? I rattled off a bunch of fundamentals and sector logic, but their eyes had already wandered off. When I finished, they scanned my QR code perfunctorily and said, "I've got something to do, gotta run"—as if afraid I'd keep talking.
But guess what? If I say I'm a KOL, their attitude instantly changes—they whip out their phone: "Come on, let's follow each other on Twitter! Send me your contact info!" The enthusiasm is like night and day.

Seriously, being a VC these days isn't as lucrative as being a KOL, haha.

Haha, VCs have really fallen now, not even as influential as someone with followers.
---
This is just ridiculous, the valuable content actually gets ignored.
---
So the investment circle only cares about follower count now, not real ability?
---
LOL, to put it bluntly, everyone just wants to ride the hype.
---
VCs really need to learn to create content, otherwise no one will pay attention to them.
---
No wonder I've been seeing so many investors opening accounts and posting recently...
---
The contrast is just too harsh, sharing logic gets you ignored.

Has VC really fallen to this point... So topic popularity isn't as important as follower count, huh?

VCs have really become background props now, while KOLs are the real top influencers.

yeah the attention economy's completely inverted rn. capital allocation thesis doesn't move needles anymore, but a decent follower count? that's pure optionality.
