I've been keeping an eye on the USDT to RMB exchange rate lately, and my feelings are a bit complicated.
At the beginning of the year, 1 USDT could still be exchanged for 7.35 yuan. Back then, I thought stablecoins were truly stable—who would have thought it would now drop below 7? The latest price shown on trading platforms is hovering around 6.69, which is almost a 10% decrease compared to the start of the year.
Looking back at my records—in August, the exchange rate was still fluctuating around 7.15, and people were already discussing whether it would continue to fall. Now it seems that this trend really hasn't stopped. Friends holding coins have probably felt it: the number of USDT in their account hasn't changed, but its purchasing power in RMB has quietly shrunk.
Is this round of devaluation just a temporary fluctuation or a long-term trend? People stockpiling coins might need to recalculate their accounts.

A stablecoin depreciated by 10%, and they still call it stable? What a joke, the name itself is laughable.
It’s not the first time we've been burned, I’m numb to it at this point.
At 6.69, it feels like the bottom isn’t here yet. Is there a high chance it’ll keep dropping?
For those of us holding coins, we really have to budget carefully now—our purchasing power is evaporating.
Will USDT keep dropping? Curious what the experts think.
From 7.35 at the start of the year to 6.69 now, that’s a brutal drop. Why did no one warn us in advance?
Even stablecoins aren’t stable—it’s definitely safer to diversify.
Did the math, losing these 10 points really adds up, even if it’s just small change.

Stablecoins aren’t stable at all. Even my USDT is shrinking. It’s exhausting.

Stablecoins aren’t stable at all. No one warns you when you buy them that they can also drop in value.

Damn, USDT dropped again, and the purchasing power I’ve been saving is evaporating.

Even stablecoins are no longer stable now; it all depends on how the central bank handles this.

Stablecoin depreciates by 10%? The capital game behind this is what's really interesting. You have to look at the on-chain data to get the real story.
